Privacy Policy

BMR-SA Software Developers (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

When you submit an enquiry or booking form, we collect:

• Your name, company, email, phone and WhatsApp number
• Business type, number of employees and current software
• Your described challenge, desired solution and budget
• Preferred meeting date and time
• Technical data such as IP address and browser (via analytics)

How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and schedule your consultation
• To prepare a relevant proposal and provide our services
• To send you related communications you have consented to
• To improve our website and services

BMR-SA Connect (our members’ community)

If you join our members’ community at bmr-sa.co.za/community, we additionally collect and process:

• Your full name, a nickname, your email address and your WhatsApp number, given when you register. Your nickname is the only one of these other members see; your real name, email and number are not shown to them
• The messages you post, who you mention and which channels you read, which are visible to other members of the channel you post in
• A record of what you consented to, when, from which IP address and against which version of this policy

We use this to run your membership, to moderate the community, and — where you have separately and explicitly agreed — to tell you about our software products, pricing and offers. We do not ask what your business does, how large it is or what you need in order to let you join; if we ever want to know, we will ask you inside the community and you will be free to ignore the question. Marketing consent is a separate, optional tick box: you can join and use the community fully without it, and you can withdraw it at any time from the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or from your privacy settings.

We do not run third-party analytics or session recording on any page inside the community, or on any signed-in dashboard. Your messages are not sent to Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity or any similar tool.

You can download everything we hold about you, and delete your account, from your privacy settings. When you delete your account, the text of your messages is erased and the empty message keeps its place in the conversation so that other members’ replies still make sense. We keep two things: the record of what you consented to and of your deletion request, because it is the proof that we handled your information lawfully, and your email address on our do-not-contact list, because honouring “never contact me again” requires remembering the address.

Legal basis & consent

We process your personal information based on your consent, which you provide when submitting our forms, and on our legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

Data storage & security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard providers (including our database host and email service) with encryption in transit and at rest. We retain lead information only as long as necessary to serve you or as required by law.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers (such as our email, calendar and hosting providers) strictly to deliver our services, and where required by law.

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and analytics tools (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) to understand how visitors use our site. You can manage cookies via the consent banner or your browser settings.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your information
• Object to processing or withdraw consent
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
